Killing Time In Bishkek

I know it has been a long time since I wrote anything, but at the Golden Dragon you can’t get i-net in the room, & it cost a lot to go down stairs & use theirs. So that means that you have to be very quick to write anything, & if you know me that is not me. It also means that I can’t find out what is going on back home.
Things here have been interesting to say the least. The day we moved to this place the other two families that are staying here got sick. We have been very careful though. When they come to the table to pour you a glass of water I say “no thank you”, because I know that if I have a pretty glass of water sitting in front of me I will drink it. The first day they gave Terry some water before I could tell them no, & Terry had to work hard not to drink it. It did look good. Well they are all better now which is a very good thing.
Destiny is doing very good with her formula, with only one problem. She had two days of not being able to go potty. Well, mean old mom went to the store & got some prunes (baby food) Oh she loved that. lol. So I give her four bites of that then a drink. We started that last night by morning she was trying to go. She had a hard time but was able to have three diapers with some in it. So I thought that we would keep giving her that until we know that things are better. Other then that she does not like to take baths or feel like she is falling. So the last three days have been hard on her.

It was hard work on ALL of us!

Something that is a lot different is when we were here before we could walk around & people didn’t seem to know we were around. Well now that we have her with us people act like you have something that does not belong to you, they all stare & some will come over & glare at you, & if she cries, boy watch out. I don’t think any of the other families are having any problems. But their babies look like they could be theirs. Destiny does not look like us at all so we get all the looks. April told us that it will be better when we get to Almaty so I hope so. It is a little scary around here.
All the families are ready to go home. We do one thing then have two days off with nothing to do then we do that again. With all the days that we have had nothing to do we could have been done by now.
We miss you all & can’t wait until we can get to a place where we can talk to you or just read how others are doing.
As for photos can’t do that ether.
Love ya all!
Two chairs? or a Victorian Crib?

I'm so glad you posted. I was so worried about (selfish me) pictures. Now, I know that it's because of the internet, and I feel bad about asking you so much!! Sorry. I can definitely wait, though. I was just worried. I know things must be terribly hard with nothing to do each day. I can imagine how it must be to be walking around with her. Those folks seemed to stare a lot at us when we were there and we didn't even have a baby. Hubby looks tired!! I wish they could make trip 2 shorter, especially since you indicate there is so little to have to do. I'll be checking your blog to see that you all are doing well and are moving to Almaty. HUGS!

Hi Michele, I'm so glad to see an update from you! I wish the process here in Bishkek would go quickly for you so you can head to Almaty. We are leaving this morning and will be back in the States before we know it (ha!). I'm sure you haven't been able to read my blog but we have had a rough trip - sorry we did not get together for dinner or to visit. I'm sure you will understand once you read all that we've been through. We will be praying for you and the rest of your journey! We can't wait to hear that you & your baby girl are at home safe!

A tip on saving internet time, do your typing ahead of time as much as you can in word or notepad (obviously not responces to email) and then cut and paste once you are online.

She still looks so tiny. I'm sure you'll be back in the swing of being Moma & Daddy to a baby again by the time you get home. Can't wait to meet her.

Good to hear from you! I love the picture of Daddy and Destiny! She is so precious sleeping in her beautiful Victorian crib :) by the way...Glad you didn't get sick, we tried just a little pear juice for Milana's pooping problem (or lack there of) while we were there...I honestly think it was her anxiety with all the new things that gave her that issue, but who knows! The juice did work for her :) Take care, we are thinking about you LOTS!

Hi Mom!
I don't know if you will get this anytime soon but I was wondering if when you will be home so that I can come and see you. Jess said she thought you were coming in on friday but didn't know what time. Let me know if you can, Miss you!!

What a good daddy ;) She is just beautiful, I'm so glad you've got her in you loving arms. Tim had someone comment when he picked up Anara last summer..."she looks like her mama." Tim just smiled and said, "Yes, she does!" Now that we are home, we seem to have shocked a few people when we tell them that she IS adopted.
