Special Olympics World Winter Games

Today was so much fun! We got to go to the speed skating & it was so awesome. I think that we were the only ones there that was routing for the two Kyrgyzstan kids that were skating. But we let them know that we were there, & we yelled very loudly for them. It was so great. I had one of my boys make a sign with the flag on it so they sould know we were there. They waved at us before the race. It was so cool! I knew some other people in the crowd & they helped us yell for them. To see the smiles on there faces was so good - we loved it! So would you like to see some of it?

This is Adilet at the start of his 55m (half lap) race. He is the one in all black number 98.

This is him again right before he is to race, we got him to smile by holding up the flag & yelling for him. He did wave but that photo did not turn out. This is Zhazgul she is just starting her 55m. As you can see she got a great start. She is number 97 in all black. They all had to wear bright yellow hats so I guess you would not lose them. lol They were so great to watch.
This is her winning by a long way. She did so well.

This is our group. After they were done racing, we got to talk to them & give the kids some flowers. The kids were very nice but very shy. The two people in the back our their coaches. They were so nice they loved on Destiny & us. They were so excited to see us & to meet her that they almost cryed. I think I did just a little. They were very happy that she looked like she got a good home.
They were all from Bishkek & so glad that they were here. We told them she was from Tokmok & they all smiled. They all knew were that was.
The funny thing that happend was they smelled her & they said that she smelled like an American. We thought that was funny, but so did they. I guess baby shampoo does not smell good to them. But I like it. All in all it was so so good to get to see them & meet them & talk to them. We loved it.

This is a toy yurt that thay gave us for Destiny. Like we knew they are a very giving people & love there babys.

This is a camel ornament that they gave us. It is very cute.

There are 95 countries here & four of the kids are from Kyrgyz. That is more counties here then what was here for the Salt Lake City games. That is so great. But the thing that makes me mad is that it seems like the people here in the USA don't care about the special people.
If we can help them go home & tell the people about how nice we can be & how much we love there babies, maybe they will let some more babies come home.
That is our fun for the day, Michele
P.S.
We will be going back to watch the kids get there gold medals. Oh! Did I say they both won both there races. The 25m & the 55m. They rocked it!

Beautiful story! Thank you for representing all of us and being so kind. I have tears in my eyes thinking about the emotional reaction they had.
But I am sure Destiny's hair smells terrific!
Hugs to you all!
