First two weeks.

The first week at home was not the easiest. Trying to get the kids to go to bed when they can't understand you is both fun and not fun at the same time. They would stay up until 3 or 4 a.m. every night. Then we would have to get them up to participate in the things that they had planned for the day. So it was a long hard week as far as sleep goes. We had a lot of fun going to all the activities & I think the kids had a lot of fun, too. They had only been here for 4 days when it was time to go to the dentist. Ours were the youngest so we got there early in order to see the Dentist first. The oldest two went first and they did very well. He only had one cavity & she only needed one baby tooth pulled so it was not too bad. The younger two, however, were an entirely diffident story. Neither of them wanted to open their mouths or have anything put in them. The Dentist finally got to look in her mouth, though. We knew that it was bad because every time someone touched her face, her mouth would start to bleed. The Dentist saw enough that he knew she was too bad for him to help and said that she should be seen by a specialist. He also recommended that the littlest one be seen by the specialist as well. We went home and waited to hear from a specialist. 4 days later we were off to see another Dentist. This one was very nice & got the kids to open their mouths. He said that it was very bad & that he would do anything that he could to help out. As we were walking out of the office we got a call from someone making us a appointment for the next day. So we got up bright & early & went to the Dentist again. He was very good.He talked to the kids before the examination & he had TV's in the ceiling to keep their attention which was very cool. He told us that it was so good that we brought her in and that a lot of work needed to be done. He told us that if her teeth had been left untreated, she may have had only 6 months to live - her teeth were that bad! He said that her gums were like Jello & the teeth were just floating around in there. There was so much infection that he was afraid it would start to move into her brain. He said he was willing to do all of the work but he couldn't do it at the office, it would have to be done at a hospital. He also volunteered to do the littlest one's teeth if he could do it at a hospital as well. He needed 4 teeth pulled and she needed 15!. The good news is that all of them were baby teeth! So I called the lady in change & she said she would do her best to find a hospital willing and able to help out. In the past they had tried to get into the hospital but were unable to. Now it was just wait & pray. That night we were at church & we prayed about the situation. Right after church but before we could leave for home we got a phone call saying that they could get her in first thing in the morning. Less than 15 mins. later we got another call saying they could get him in also. I think that is the first time I had seen God work so fast! It made me cry to see His work done so fast and in such a big way. We all gathered back up to say "thank-you" for His good timing. God is so good!
